2 Die in Johnston County Accident

— Two people died and a third was airlifted to UNC hospitals after a wreck near Willow Springs Sunday night about 7:30 p.m.

Identities of those involved has not been released.

The collision occurred near Cleveland School Road and Polentia Road.

The two people who died were in a truck, which flipped on impact and landed upside-down in a ditch about 100 feet away.

The other vehicle, a Pontiac Firebird, was driven by a woman. She was pinned in the car for almost an hour, before rescue workers were able to free her by removing the driver's door.

Cause of the accident has not been determined yet.
