RALEIGH — The Thanksgiving weekend, notorious for packed roads, has already claimed one life.
A Geo tracker crashed on Wakefield and Morphus Bridge Road in Wake County just after midnight.
Investigators say the driver, 33-year-old Lenwood Street, was going too fast and was not wearing a seatbelt.
State troopers will be out in force to keep others from becoming statistics this holiday.
The Highway Patrol plans to have a trooper posted every 10 miles along the state's highways from now through midnight Sunday.
