Carolinas Face Electric Hike

Posted Updated

COLUMBIA, SC — Keeping warm this winter may cost more. A utility rate hike could be on the way for North and South Carolina residents.

South Carolina is considering deregulation of its electric industry.

If that happens, CP&L and Duke Power will look to its customers to absorb the extra costs.

The Public Service Commission will make a decision this week.
