Robert Warren Pratt, 27, was taken into custody at Union Station about 9:30 p.m. Saturday by DC Metro police.
Charges against Pratt include attempted rape, sexual assault, kidnapping and armed robbery. He faces his first hearing on extradition in Washington today.
Cary Police Chief W.J. Hunter said the $14,000 reward offered in the case was instrumental in leading to Pratt's arrest. "We worked with several informants to bring this case to a close," he said.
The Cary assault took place about 1:30 p.m. September 3, when an armed man entered the Regency Park sales office inquiring about blueprints.
The woman was alone in the office. During a vigorous struggle, the suspect stole the victim's watch.
A similar case occurred at a Durham real estate office on August 18.
