Man Sought in Raleigh Assault

Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police are asking for the public's help to find a man who they believe grabbed a woman on her morning jog.

According to authorities, the woman was running in her neighborhood at around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday when someone grabbed her near the intersection of Falls River Road and Hopeton Avenue.

Police said the man grabbed the woman by the arm, but that she was able to get away and alert neighbors.

Authorities believe the assailant fled the area in a older-model red or burgundy car that might have been a Mazda or a Volvo. Witnesses said the car had a loud muffler.

The assailant is described as a white male in his 20s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches and weighing almost 190 pounds. He also has "shaggy," light, brown hair and was wearing jeans, a dark-colored sweatshirt with a pocket in the front and sneakers.

For you ladies especially. I feel your fear. Take up something like Karate if you have the time. And if this ever happens to you (no holds bard) kill the SOB with you Karate bare hands and if your in a group beat the SH88t out of him until he's dead!

I live in this neighborhood (Bedford at Falls River - located off of Falls of Neuse Rd, north of 540) and this is darn scary! I thought if anyplace was safe, it was here...

Could you add the map of the area where this occurred? When the website was re-vamped, this was one useful feature that was deleted. As far as race and gender, etc in the write-up; sometimes this information is part of the description we can use to apprehend this jerk. Thanks.
