DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police spent several hours surrounding a motel overnight, looking for a murder suspect.
Authorities got a 911 call that Roderick Wooten was at the Innkeeper
on Highway 55
Friday night. Officers with several investigative teams and the SWAT team responded to the scene, along with EMS personnel. Authorities also closed a Waffle House restaurant across the street from the motel.
Authorities got a search warrant and searched several rooms of the motel. Wooten, who's wanted for a murder on Dec. 9th, was not located and is still on the run. This is the second hotel that has been searched looking for him.
During the searches, officers found a large amount of marijuana, and two people now face felony drug charges. Authorities said they are not associated with Wooten. One other person was taken into custody on the scene, but he was later released.
