Fayetteville to Stage Its First Veterans Parade
Posted August 9, 1998
FAYETTEVILLE — Veterans Day will be different in Fayetteville this November. Although residents in Fayetteville may be filled with military pride, they don't celebrate Veteran's Day like other cities.
That's going to change this year.
Organizers with the Cumberland County Veterans Council are organizing a parade.
They're hoping the Veteran's Day celebration in Fayetteville becomes one of the largest in the state with tanks, vintage jeeps and people lined up waving American Flags.
The city has never planned a large scale event for Veterans Day so the Veterans Council got together and decided to organize a parade on their own.
