Couple Charged with Taping Sex in Front of Children

ZEBULON — A Wake County couple has been arrested after investigators say they had sex in front of the woman's three children and videotaped the incident.

Michelle Runge, 26, was charged with three counts of taking indecent liberties with her children. Investigators say she allowed her three children, ages 8, 7 and 5 to watch as she had sex with her boyfriend at a motel near Zebulon.

Bobby Hamilton, 28, has also been charged. Detectives say he videotaped the encounter.

"They were engaging in sex acts while the three kids, 8, 7 and 5 were in the hotel with them," said Wake County Sheriff's Department Capt. Thomas Matthews.

Investigators say the video shows the kids sitting at the end of the bed, talking to their mother while she had sex. They also said the 8-year-old child was drinking alcohol.

"What's disturbing is the demeanor of the children," Matthews said. "It was not upsetting to them, so it raises questions in their minds as to whether there's been any previous exposure to this kind of activity."

"My wife, she takes care of those kid, she always has," the children's father Kenneth Runge said.

He says his wife was coerced into the affair, and did not know she was being videotaped. He believes the children were not harmed.

Reporter Amanda Lamb asked if he was worried about his children.

"I have my kids, they're with me," Runge said. "They're just fine, they're worried about their mama."
