    Wow, you people are something else. First of all, it says they "charged James Williamson with physical assault and communicating threats". Alot of you are quick to judge the school officials. Having worked in a school, there were quite a few parents I would have liked to wacked! There were parents who always had an excuse for their child's poor behavior or who didn't feel like the rules applies to them. You want these administrators to be held responsible for the safety of the student body, but you don't want them to upset anyone in the process...until it's too late and then everyone wonders why they didn't do something. I don't know what these parents had a problem with and I don't know if the principal and v.p. acted appropriately, but I'm sure their behavior reflects badly on all.

    I wonder if the searched the car they came in and popped the trunk looking for weapons...????

    have to speak up...there is no such thing as "non contact assault"...you'd be laughed out of court with that...please

    now there is "communicating threats"...

    bigjim835... You make a very valid point. We don't know everything about what happened and probably never will. However you can't have it both way's. No one is suppose to assault any one. You have the right to defend yourself if attacked or you feel your life is in jeopardy. It doesn't matter how the princple spoke to the parents they have no right to assault him. It doesn't matter if he told them that little Jimmy was an idiot. As a parent I'm quick to defend my daughter but not with violence unless they have physically harmed her.

    The story left out what the problem was about between these four people. Before you jump to conclusions the problem might have been one that would have led anyone to committ an assault. Just because the principal and assistant principal works for a school system does not automaticly give the right to approach or talk to people anyway they want. Before everone rushes to judgement about the parents lets get the whold story.

    Assault=Threatening somebody
    Battery=Hitting somebody

    People ask whats wrong with children today.Prime example.If parents cant control themselves how can they control their children and how they act.I had a teacher in school and he always called it home traing.Without it children can act however they want.

    joker - I hear ya!

    That's a nice example to set for your children.

    As for the no contact assault issue:.... I've seen plenty of people at Wal-Mart that scare me. Can I have them arrested?

  • Greyhound_Girl Apr 19, 2007

    Ya Lightfoot, it's called "non-contact" assualt. My ex had someone call the police on him for that. The police officer we worked with said that if the person "feels threatened" by your actions they can have you brought in for non-contact assualt.
