Wilson Man Jailed After Machete Attack

A Wilson man is behind bars after police said he assaulted another man with a machete.

WILSON, N.C. — A Wilson man was behind bars Wednesday because, authorities said, he injured another man with a machete.

Authorities said 52-year-old Phillip Jackson had been arguing with 43-year-old Luc Philistin at 505 Kenan St. Tuesday evening.

At some point, police said, Jackson struck Philistin with the machete. Investigators said Philistin had two cuts on his arm.

Jackson has been charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was in the Wilson County Jail on $5,000 bond.
