FUQUAY-VARINA — Some Fuquay-Varina residents spent part of Sunday cleaning up after a sudden burst of severe weather.
Residents say a gust of wind that came along with a thunderstorm downed trees and snapped limbs in several yards.
The heavy winds, rain, and hail didn't damage any homes but many families were startled by the storm.
The storm was fierce enough to lead them to huddle in closets, but the entire episode lasted only a few minutes.
