Alcohol on Hold at Raleigh Night Club

Posted April 17, 2007
Updated April 25, 2007

— A Raleigh nightclub that had two shootings in a week cannot serve alcohol anymore.

The North Carolina ABC Commission indefinitely suspended the alcohol permits at Fiesta, a club at 4212 Wake Forest Road.

The decision came after the most recent shooting Sunday. Police are still looking for the gunman.

Officers arrested a security guard and another man connected to the club.

Shots were fired outside Fiesta the Sunday before, too.

    Spittin Knowledge,

No kidding you'd have a hard time at the Long Branch, they don't like anyone who isn't a "hick cowboy". Even preppy dressed white guys get stared at in there. But you think a white guy wouldn't have any trouble in a black club?

The funny thing is, the black guys in the club can get away with picking on the poor white kid and saying whatever they want, but if the situation is reversed, the white guy can't say anything to the black guy b/c he'd be labeled racist. Talk about a double standard.

My comment was only to say that urban clubs have more crime/drug/violence problems than a typicially white club, such as the Long Branch. Strangely enough, the white guys you see who cause the most problems are the riceboy driving, thug wanna be losers. I'm not saying if you ride around blasting rap music in a customized Honda Civic that you're up to no good, but I'd bet alot of cops would tell you that's something they look for. And it pays off often.

Ok I got a discrimination story for you and I'm a white guy. I was stationed in Germany with the US Army when this happened. Some friends and I were going into a club and security stopped us and told us we could not go in there. We asked why? Was it our clothes, shoes etc... The bouncer said "No, it is because you are Americans" (this was back in 98, when we were still liked over there). We told him that what he was doing was discrimination and it was wrong. He shrugged and said "The other guys in the club (German guys) don't like it when the Americans come, because you steal all the women". Hand to God true story he actually said that. So instead of shooting up the place, as is customary in America after being dissed, we laughed in his faced hi-fived each other and walked out and took our money elsewhere. I guess showing restraint makes you a b*tch nowadays though. Because God forbid if "you go out like that."

It's not what you wear, it's how you act, for pete's sake. Wanting to blast somebody because they looked at them wrong or 'disrespected' them or what not is just pure thug. That is a mentality, not a dress code.

Which leads me to this. I hate thugs. I guess that makes me a 'thugist' and makes me guilty of 'thugism'.

Just doing my part to attach a label to everything I see. So sue me......
