Raleigh, N.C. — Starting Monday, North Carolina has a new license plate design.

The letters on license plates will be red instead of blue. Officials said the change is necessary because the blue ink is fading on some plates.

It will be the first change in 25 years. North Carolina has the second oldest license plate design in the nation.

They need to take a look at the stickes they put on the plate more so than the paint. They either put colors that look like each other in back to back years and eventaully fade so that they do look at each other. The problem with the 07 green stickers is that the blue ones at night look just like them. By not changing the varirations in color it makes it difficult to enforce.
