RALEIGH, N.C. — Wake County school officials and Raleigh police on Friday issued warnings to parents after two girls reported being followed home by two men in a white car.

A 12-year-old girl said she was walking home Wednesday from her local YMCA in north Raleigh and noticed a white car as she entered the Stratford Hall subdivision. The car slowly followed her, and then one man got out and followed her on foot, she said.

The girl said she walked faster, made it home safely and told her mother, who called police. The girl said the car stayed parked in front of the house for a few minutes before driving off.

A few miles away, a 13-year-old girl from the Falls River neighborhood said she was walking home from a bus stop Wednesday when a white car with two men inside followed her.

School district administrators also have notified school staff about the incidents.
