WAKE FOREST — The suspect in the June 22 killing of a Wake Forest man surrendered to Wake Forest police Tuesday. Gustavo Martinez Giraldo, 26, of Raleigh had been on the run since the Monday night shooting death of Bradley Seivers, 35, of Wake Forest.

Police say they received approximately 20 phone calls in reference to their search, and followed up on approximately 70 leads prior to Giraldo's surrender. Members of the Hispanic community and co-workers of the suspect were instrumental in both the search and in Giraldo's surrender, police say.

Giraldo is being held in the Wake County Detention Center pending a court appearance.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office and Raleigh Police Department assisted with the search for Giraldo.
