— A Kinston man wanted in connection with setting his wife on fire last weekend was arrested late Wednesday.

Timothy Kinsey, 43, was expected to make his first court appearance Thursday.

Police said Timothy Kinsey doused Juanita Natasha Kinsey with gasoline last Saturday and threw a match on her.

Juanita Kinsey, 37, is listed in critical condition in the Jaycee Burn Center at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill with second- and third-degree burns over 40 percent of her body.

Her 14-year-old son, Timarcus Carraway, was also burned when gasoline splashed on him and when he used a coat to try to put out the flames burning his mother. He was treated for burns on his hands and arms and released from the burn center.

Juanita Kinsey is a shelter coordinator for SAFE of Lenoir County, which supports victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Yep, I sure am sorry he has been traumetized by his ancestors being brought into this country against their will. And I'm really sorry he will be victimized by a racially biased judicial system.

this man should be charges with 1st degree contempted murder charges. this man had every intentions on making this woman suffer by throwing gasoline on her, and then lighting her on fire. this woman will never be the same again mentally nor physically. look at the trauma this will have on her son as well.

Lenoir county please do not let this guy plead down to lesser charges. Throw the book at him. Any jury is going to convict him of what ever you charge him with and I'm sure he'll get the max sentence.

Then the parole board can let him out early.
You win some you lose some.

How sad is that?! This woman devoted her time to helping victims of domestic violence, but was unable to help herself. And God bless her little boy for heorically trying to save her. I hope this man is punished to the fullest extent of the law and may God be with this woman and her family.

i think the justice system should insist that he be covered with gasoline and set ablaze (eye for an eye)

I agree Mrs. Kinsey's son deserves something for saving his mother's life. Something other than still having his Momma!! He is going to need just as much help as him Momma is!
