KINSTON, N.C. — A Kinston man wanted in connection with setting his wife on fire last weekend was arrested late Wednesday.

Timothy Kinsey, 43, was expected to make his first court appearance Thursday.

Police said Timothy Kinsey doused Juanita Natasha Kinsey with gasoline last Saturday and threw a match on her.

Juanita Kinsey, 37, is listed in critical condition in the Jaycee Burn Center at University of North Carolina Hospitals in Chapel Hill with second- and third-degree burns over 40 percent of her body.

Her 14-year-old son, Timarcus Carraway, was also burned when gasoline splashed on him and when he used a coat to try to put out the flames burning his mother. He was treated for burns on his hands and arms and released from the burn center.

Juanita Kinsey is a shelter coordinator for SAFE of Lenoir County, which supports victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
