CARY — An accident on Highway 1 closed off part of the road for a time in Cary Wednesday afternoon.
A tractor-trailer jackknifed when the driver driver swerved to avoid a two-car collision. The truck ended up straddling the southbound lanes just before they cross under Walnut Street.
The highway was cleared before the worst of the afternoon commute.
One of the car drivers was cited for driving left of center. Police are seeking information on a red car that reportedly ran one of the vehicles off the road before driving away.
No one was hurt.
