— Police arrested a suspect involved in a pursuit that spanned two counties Tuesday.

According to Apex police investigators, deputies from the Durham County Sheriff’s Department began pursuing Jesus Rivera Colon, who was driving a stolen Suzuki Forenza, on N.C. 55 in Durham County.

When Colon crossed into Wake County, the state Highway Patrol joined the pursuit. During the chase, officers deployed stop sticks that blew out one front tire. Another tire blew when the car hit a curb.

After driving through Wake County on Highway 55, Colon jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot at the intersection with Olive Chapel Road at Haddon Hall Commons. He was captured a short time later.

Police believe that the car Colon drove Tuesday was his second stolen car in two days. He got away Monday after nearly hitting a Durham officer, they said.

Durham sheriff’s officials said their investigation was ongoing.

They took Colon back to Durham to face several charges related to the stolen car and chase.

IF OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS WOULD JUST USE A HALF OUNCE OF BRAIN THEY COULD REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. BUT THEN IF THEY DID SOME HIGH AND MIGHTY DO GOODER WOULD HAVE TO STAND OUT IN FREEZING WEATHER HAOLDING A CANDLE TO PROTEST SOMETING BEING DONE. MAYBE WE SHOULD DEPORT THE CRIMINAL AND THE IDIOT

u guys never talk about the white mob families which are actually gang members of crime families which started pretty much all of this gang violence back in the day, and now other racial groups got the connect, and now its out of control.

In The Wind--that is actually the best solution I have heard so far. He should be charged with attempted murder, I'm sure he could have cared less if he hit that officer and it's not like he would have stopped either.

Illegal or not, this crime will result in jail time. There he will be given 3 hots and a cot, clothes and join a jail house gang and learn how to steal cars and not get cought when he gets out.

I spent time in Guatemala, and the attitude there which I think is prevalent among latinos is that it isn't illegal unless you get cought.

The sad thing is that if he is illegal, he probably won't be deported. However we handled the millions here already, it should be a no-brainer that, if you break the law here, especially this seriously, you would be deported. No questions asked.

Maxine in the cartoons has an idea. Dig a 100 foot wide moat between the US and Mexico from the Pacific to the Gulf of Mexico. Take that dirt to Louisana and raise New Orleans above sea level. Get the alligators in Florida that are attacking pets and the elderly and put them in the newly dug moat. Three prolbems solved.

When will we get our act together and show the illegals the door? The Mexican government will do nothing because illegals sending money back to Mexico are a major source of the Mexican economy

  • They call me CATMAN Apr 10, 2007

Myview you are right. Another reason not to give illegals amnesty. No I don't know if this person is illegal. But I am willing to take the chance that he is. It time to take a stand America. Call your Elected Officials. Let them know how you feel about the President Bush Plan. ( Just say no to Amnesty).
