Durham Shooting Leaves Two in Critical Condition

DURHAM — Two people are fighting for their lives after a shooting outside a Durham Walmart at the New Hope Commons shopping center.
Investigators said that a man pulled into the parking lot Friday night, and blocked another car into a space.
The man argued with a woman in the car, then opened fire. Police say he hit the woman and one of two children in the car, then shot himself.
A store employee said that the woman was unconscious when the ambulance took her away.
"There was also a young kid, a cousin I think. He jumped and ran inside," store employee Johnathon Alston. "I just told him to go inside. I was trying to get everyone inside because he was still shooting at the time."
The child is doing fine, but both the man and woman are in critical condition.
