RALEIGH, N.C. — An emergency relief account has been set up for the family whose home in the Brier Creek subdivision was destroyed by fire Monday.
The owners of the home, Jason and Colleen Ramsden, are both employees at Ravenscroft School. Jason is the director of technology, and Colleen is the assistant lower school director.

The school has established a relief account with First Citizens Bank, officials announced Monday night. These funds will be deposited with First Citizens and will be immediately accessible to the Ramsdens.

“Ravenscroft is a tight-knit community and we have a history of coming together to support each other in times of both joy and sadness,” said Head of School Doreen Kelly. “This is a very difficult time for the Ramsden family, and we are doing everything possible to help them as they begin to rebuild."

A fire broke out in the home Monday afternoon. The blaze was reported shortly after 3 p.m. and rapidly consumed the structure at 9109 Meadow Mist Court. No injuries were reported.

"We continue to keep the family in our thoughts and prayers, and I know that the Ramsdens will greatly appreciate any help that is given," Kelly said. "They told me how fortunate they feel to have so many people who want to help and care so much about them.”
