Cancer Survivors Celebrate Good Health

RALEIGH — Hundreds of people who share a life-changing experience gathered in Raleigh Sunday to offer each other hope and encouragement.
More than 500 cancer survivors met at the Rex Cancer Center where doctors talked about the progress that's been made in treatments, and offered tips on how to stay healthy.
The yearly event gives survivors a chance to share their stories with each other.
"It's been a long time, it's been 25 years, for that i'd like to think I can be somewhat of an encouragement to others," said cancer survivor Robin Deal.
Those present wrote their names on ribbons and hung them on a tree.
Organizers say the hundreds of names should offer hope to cancer patients.
