Durham Man Gunned Down in Intersection

DURHAM, N.C. — Police asked for information from the public Sunday as they investigated the slaying of a man in a city intersection.

Jimmy Williams, 49, of South Street, died at Duke University Hospital of gunshot wounds, police said. Officers found him lying in the roadway at Stout Drive and Lodge Street shortly after 2 a.m. following a call about a shooting, they said.

Witnesses told police that Williams had been arguing with two men before they heard shots. The two men ran away afterward, police said.
