GARLAND — A Sampson County man is charged with attempted murder and first degree arson after investigators say, he tried to burn down someone's house. William Gordon Parker allegedly set fire to a house on Parker Lane in Garland Thursday morning.
Six people were inside the home at the time, but no one was injured, even though investigators say Parker had blocked exits to keep the victims from escaping.
The family is leasing the house from the suspect's father, but investigators haven't come up with a motive yet.
