Charlotte, N.C. — The FBI said Monday that agents believe the same man is responsible for two bank robberies in Hillsborough and Carrboro within six days.
They said the man, whom they described as armed and dangerous, held up a Cardinal State Bank branch in Hillsborough on March 23 and an RBC Centura branch in Carrboro on March 28. Both heists occurred at the same time of day, shortly before 10 a.m., the FBI said.
Agents identified the suspect as a black male in his mid-30s, approximately 5-foot-11 to 6 feet tall with and a slim build and weighing
approximately 180 pounds. The man had dreadlocks or a braided hairstyle and was last seen
wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark-colored pants after the Carrboro robbery last week.
The suspect brandished a weapon to bank tellers and fled on foot in both cases, the FBI said.
