RALEIGH — There are now more, bigger stop signs at a dangerous railroad crossing. The North Carolina Department of Transportation paid for signs that went up Thursday afternoon at the crossing on Bashford Road and Hillsborough Street in Raleigh.

There were two signs there. Now there are eight at the intersection where Victoria Torrez and her 12-year-old son died after an Amtrak passenger train slammed into their van last weekend.

Torrez's 2-year-old daughter remains hospitalized in satisfactory condition.
