— One of Granville County's oldest industries is laying off more than 350 people.

The Athol division of SanduskyAthol International started cutting jobs earlier this month. At this point, about 20 people still work in the company’s automotive vinyl products plant.

The industry has struggled recently. Last year, more than 500 workers at an automotive fabric plant in neighboring Person County lost their jobs.

Butner had to make room for all of the public safety officers they have hired. Tell me why it takes over 50 officers to patrol Butner NC?

    Sad story!
We need to stop sending jobs overseas and control (not close) our boarders with neighboring countries!

May the Lords strength, mercy and will be with you during this time of financial uncertainty.
