Firefighters worked through some tense moments Monday afternoon after a fertilizer truck overturned in Edgecombe County.

The truck was carrying 40,000 pounds of ammonium sulfate, a chemical which can explode when combined with diesel fuel.

The spill closed the on ramp at highway 64 in Princeville for about two hours.

The driver was not seriously hurt.
