Knightdale Fire Truck Collides with Pickup
Posted April 15, 1998
KNIGHTDALE — A Knightdale fire truck responding to a call was apparently struck by a pickup truck Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred just after 2 p.m.
There were four firefighters on the truck, and one person in the pickup. One firefighter was hurt and was treated and released. Police say charges could be pending against the driver of the Chevy S-10 truck driver. There are indications he may have failed to give right of way to the fire truck. The firefighters were responding to a call to put out a vehicle fire. That fire was quickly put out by another truck sent to the scene.
