Bulls Meet Big Brother at DBAP

DURHAM — They played ball at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park Monday! The new, triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays took on big brother Monday night as a NEW ERA in baseball began in Durham.
Excitement filled the air in the park, but the outcome didn't much matter to the sold out crowd of more than 10,000 fans.
You can bet there were a lot of half-days at work in the Triangle Monday. Fans arrived early to get a feel for the new ballpark and catch a glimpse of some major league players.
Despite the larger crowd, Bulls General Manager Peter Anlyan said parking was not expected to be a problem thanks to the new Diamond View office building. Anlyan says there have been many changes to the park.
Fans who arrived early were treated to a bit of pregame patriotism. A bald eagle flew into the stadium as part of the first pitch festivities.
