Greensboro, N.C. — A Greensboro man has been charged with the shooting of a Raleigh man inside a dorm room at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Saturday afternoon.
Brian Patrick Martin, 19, of 20 Holly Springs Lane was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon on campus, and the discharge of a firearm on campus. He was being held under $300,000 bond.
Police said Martin entered the room in Weil Residence Hall shortly before 5 p.m. and shot UNCG freshman Stephen Cobb in the lower back.
According to police, Cobb was admitted to Moses Cone Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. His condition was unknown early Sunday afternoon.
UNCG police arrested two suspects, including Martin, after they were subdued by other Weil residents. Police said they are seeking a third man for questioning.
