Lady Wolfpack Dressed for Success

The NC State women's team is getting ready for Friday's big game. For the first time in history, the team is in the Final Four. Now 23-year coach Kay Yow is looking for victory number 553. Her players intend to give it to her. How are they going to do it? They plan to focus.

All dressed up for dinner, the Wolfpack women pose for pictures in the lobby of their hotel. They're focusing on all of the fun of the Final Four, while trying to stay focused on their game.

"There are no words to describe how we feel," says player Peach Shepard. "We're just going to go out and play hard, and show them that NC State should be here."

Chasity Melvin, the team captain, has plans with her teammates to play the best basketball possible.

Coach Kay Yow shared a few of the many good luck wishes being sent their way: To Kay Yow and the Pack. Way to go Wolfpack! We're going to cheer you on.

To say the team is excited is an understatement. Yow says sharing the excitement is half the fun.

Melvin found out at the Final Four that she is one of the Kodak All-American players.

"I've just dreamed about being a Kodak All-American," Melvin explains. "I never really set it as a goal of mine. It's just a dream come true."

The Final Four experience itself is a dream come true for the Wolfpack, who were not picked to be in Kansas City. The town is decked out for the games, and so are the Wolfpack fans.

As the team heads for a salute dinner in their honor, their thoughts turn to the big game. Constance Poteat believes it's destiny that the Pack made it this far. She believes the team is meant to go all the way.

Coach Yow says the team had a great practice on Thursday. It's probably because they're playing so well that they've got time to take in the experience and have fun.
