Carolina Fans Fill San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — The Riverwalk in San Antonio became a sea of blue today as Carolina fans poured into town.

Basketball fans ready for basketball action found it today at Hoop City.

Hoop City allows fans to check out basketball paraphernalia or even take a few shots of their own. Most Carolina fans found their way to Hoop City's Dean Smith street.

Jim and Karen Smith from Raleigh made plans last year to travel the road to the Final Four.

Jim Smith said, "We made plans last may to come and thought it would be fun and be around basketball and enjoy the atmosphere."

The Smith's say that Final Four fever is everywhere.

"You hear side conversations and people talking basketball and so you put your ear here and there. It's wonderful," Karen Smith said.

Even basketball's finest visit Hoop City. Rhode Island's Coach Jim Harrick signed autographs and then coached kids about the game of life.

Coach Harrick said, "My players have to be good people first and good students second and good players third."

Also stunning the crowd with his razzle dazzle was Dave Travelin' Davlin,' the world's best basketball spinner.

Billy Packer even stopped to watch him put a spin on things.

After basketball fans scored at Hoop City, they made their way to the Alamodome to watch the real thing as the teams practiced for the big games.

Carolina finished their practice around 4:30 this afternoon.
