Eno, Cape Fear Rivers Rising

e-mail print friendly

Most area rivers are threatening to spill over their banks.

The Eno River crested Thursday, forcing Durham's mayor to declare a state of emergency in the city. That means anyone caught in the river can be arrested.

The Eno is at about 22 feet -- the highest it's been since Hurricane Fran.

In Fayetteville the Cape Fear River is expected to crest Saturday. It could rise 15 feet above flood stage, threatening the outer edges of the city's downtown area.
