LILLINGTON — Two men have been arrested in connection with a car-motivated killing in Harnett County.
Wednesday night, the body of 20-year-old Dwayne McNeill was discovered off a logging path near Lillington. Major Steve West of the Harnett County says McNeill was killed for his 1998 Ford Mustang.
David Ganey, 25, of Lillington, is charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, assault and conspiracy. Larry McDougald, 27, of Dunn, is also charged with first degree murder.
Investigators believe the two men led McNeill to a place where he was told he could buy car accessories. There they allegedly kidnapped him, killed him and left him for dead.
