FAYETTEVILLE — A Fort Bragg Soldier stands accused of fatally beating and biting a three-year-old boy.
31-year old Arnold William Hicks was originally charged with felony child abuse. On Sunday, Hicks told police he was just rough- housing with the child while he was babysitting for a friend.
Colton Muskrat had been on life support at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. He died Tuesday afternoon.
Hicks told investigators that he had been playing with Colton when his head struck the wooden rail of a bed. Hicks said that he had taken the boy to his apartment to bathe him and wash his clothes after he fell into a mud puddle.
