Now, Lt. Wayne Sears with Rocky Mount police says there's no evidence of foul play in the mysterious deaths. Both mother and chile were fully clothed, and neither body showed any signs of trauma. Sears says the possible scenarios are endless. Authorities are now waiting on further lab tests from the autopsy.
Police say the two had been staying with a relative in town before they vanished. The family is trying to cope with the tragedy of the two deaths.
The medical examiner's investigation continues, but Dr. Robert Zipf does know a few things for certain about Rosie Vine's death.
The medical examiner says high water and swift currents in the past month could have carried her body a long way from its origin.
John Vines says he has his own ideas as to what might have happened to his sister.
Police are hoping someone will come forward with information that will help them with this case.
