CARY — The man who was trapped earlier this month in a Cary construction trench died in a hospital early Friday morning.
Mark Swartwood, 33, became trapped for two-and-a-half hours after the walls of the trench collapsed from days of soaking rain. He was virtually buried in mud as rescue workers struggled to free him.
