Hillsborough, N.C. — All of southbound Interstate 95 in in Robeson County had reopened Sunday morning, but a lane of westbound Interstate 40 in Orange County was closed for a time. Both incidents involved overturned tanker trucks.
The I-40 accident happened at mile marker 262 shortly before 6 a.m., the Highway Patrol reported. The right lane was closed for about two hours.
There was no word on whether anyone had been injured.
On I-95 just north of Saint Pauls, crews reopened all of I-95 Saturday evening for the first time since a Friday crash in which an overturned tanker spilled thounsands of gallons of gasoline into a swamp next to the highway.
Troopers said they believed the driver may have had a medical emergency before that accident. He was hurt in the wreck, but is expected to be OK.
