CHAPEL HILL — Three people were seriously injured in a small plane crash Wednesday night at Horace Williams Airport in Chapel Hill.
The single-engine plane went off of the runway, near Airport Road. It appears to have flipped over and broken apart. Witnesses told WRAL-TV5 News that they heard a thud, then they raced over a fence to help the victims. A witness said that they believed that the plane was landing when the plane went off of the runway.
Details about the injuries were not immediately available.
