SMITHFIELD — A 17-year-old convicted of robbing a Johnston Cuunty business will not get a new trial. A judge ruled Wednesday morning that there was not enough evidence to overturn the conviction of Terrance Garner.
Two days after Garner's conviction last month, a second man named Terrance Deloach confessed to the crime. but the judge now says Deloach's story isn't believable.
Garner will serve at least 30 years in jail. Deloach is also in jail for attempting to obstruct justice.
