Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Highlights

The streets of Raleigh were decked out in green Saturday with the 25th annual Raleigh St. Patrick's Day parade.

Planners say 105 floats paraded started on Wilmington Street at Cabarrus Street and paraded  their way to the State Capitol and ending at Moore Square, ending with a daylong festival of entertainment complete with Irish music, dancers and fun.

WRAL-TV's Debra Morgan was the parade's grand marshal.

Organizers were expecting more than 25,000 visitors.

Wish they would redo downtown and have the mall again. The parade would have ended up downtown and had a party on the mall. Throw those beer cans, and trash all over the streets. Some of you people use any excuse to get drunk and party. Well its Sunday and time to party guys

I too was Irish Dancing at the parade with Inis Cairde. It was a bit cold but still a ton of fun and we'll sure be back next year. Hope everyone who attended had an awesome time because I know I did. The spirit was great and green was all around!!!:) Happy St. Paddy's Day!!

I was irish dancing at the parade with Inis Cairde. Hope yall sall us.

It's a fine idea, but they could have been kind enough to put up signs last night to warn drivers that some streets would be blocked off in the morning. I'm sure other responsible people, like me, last night who decided they needed a ride home, were not pleased to find they couldn't get to their cars this morning because there was a parade. Early St. Patty's headache.

Why so negative? God forbid people have fun... What's that about "North Raleigh people"-did we build a Raleigh Wall and I just haven't heard about it? PLEASE drink a green alcoholic beverage and have a great day arthurb3
