Jury in Williams Trial Visits Crime Scene

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — The jury in the John Williams trial spent part of Thursday visiting a West Street warehouse where a woman's body was found over a year ago.

In December of 1996, investigators believe Williams and Deborah Elliot forced their way through a window into the building. The day after Christmas, Elliot was found nude and stabbed to death inside.

Police say she staggered around trying to get out before she finally died.

Williams is also charged in the death of Patricia Ashe and the sexual assault of five other women.
