Parents Faces Charges of Abusing 6-Month-Old

Halifax, N.C. — The parents of a 6-month-old baby in Halifax County have been charged with child abuse.

Jessica Lynch, 20, and Jarvis Coley, 18, both of Hollister, face charges of felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.

This case was reported to the authorities earlier this month after hospital officials discovered a broken femur on the child. During a medical exam, doctors discovered two broken ribs that were in the process of being healed.

The rib injury was believed to have happened back in December, but authorities would not release further details about the case.

Lynch is in the Halifax County Jail under a $75,000 bond; Coley is there under a $25,000 bond. They are expected to make their first court appearance March 28.

yea guess what I was in the Doctors office when the baby was sent to the emergency room and this is a sa story but I the the fathers parents shoul be locked up too because evidently they allowed this to go on in their house and never reported it. Also is the government not to blame for allowing these girls to keep having babies at the governments expense when they could provide senior citizens with medical assistance that they have worked for all their life , I agree with ......they should not be legally allowed to have another child. If you ever hear that song Alyssa lies it will make you cry as well as reading this story.

I am amother of 5 and 2 grandchildren and I would never allow anyone to hurt my children.
