FAYETTEVILLE — Police responded early Sunday morning to a hit-and-run accident on Murchison Road. The victim was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m.
The victim is said to be a 37-year-old African-American, whose name is being withheld pending notification of her family.
Traffic investigators believe that a light-colored vehicle (possibly tan, beige or light burgundy) may be involved. The suspect vehicle may also have sustained damage to the right front area and may have a damaged or broken windshield.
Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1830.
