Fuquay-Varina, N.C. — A fire that damaged a textile plant was set, fire investigators have ruled.
The blaze broke out at the Guilford Mills plant off Dickens Road Monday night. More than 30 workers had to be evacuated.
In addition to local police and fire officials, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating, officials said Thursday.
A sprinkler system the building was credited with helping to contain the fire, but many of the fabrics stored inside and machinery were soaked. The company has not issued an estimate of the damage.
Multiple fire crews were called to the scene when the fire was discovered.
