APEX — The caps are coming off at four Wake County schools. A year ago, school officials closed enrollment at Apex High School, as well as East Cary Middle School and Davis Drive Elementary and Middle schools.

Children of new residents were reassigned to other, less crowded campuses. School leaders say capping was a short term solution to bring stability to those schools. Some parents wish the caps would stay.

"I just see that schools are all overcrowded and all the new construction with new homes and where is everybody going to go with all the students coming in," says parent, Vivian Mallow. "What's the plan?"

Next Wednesday, the Wake County School Board will take a look at a new reassignment plan which is supposed to help keep overcrowded campuses stable.
