Franklin Hospital Plans New Facility, Move

Franklin Regional Medical Center has asked the state for permission to move from Louisburg to a new facility in Youngsville.

Hospital officials want to build a $96 million, 184,000-square foot facility on U.S. Highway 1 near Youngsville. The new building would have 70 acute care beds and three operating rooms.

The hospital has filed an application with the state Division of Facility Services for the proposed move. A public hearing on the requestis scheduled for April 17 in Louisburg.

Franklin Regional officials said they hope to start construction on the new building in April 2008 and be open for business by October 2009.

WRAL actually reported on a story in Franklin County that didn't involve somebody dying, or being declared dead.

Even if the story was only 5 sentences...

Shhhh, don't let Wake Med find out or they will pay off the state board and build an inferior one just like they are doing in Harnett County.
