Burned Body Thought to be Judge's Mother

e-mail print friendly

The missing mother of retired Wayne County district judge Ken Ellis may have been found. A burned body matching the description of Molly Ellis was found last night near a mobile home park in Fremont.

Sheriff's deputies say they're very close to identifying the body as that of the 76-year-old woman. Ellis disappeared from the home where she lived alone sometime on Monday.

Officers are not yet speculating on a motive for the crime, however they say the wooded area where the body was found is very close to Ellis' home. A deputy was driving by the area Tuesday when he smelled smoke. It was during the investigation of the smoke that he stumbled upon the partially burnt body.

The sheriff's office is working on what they're considering a strong lead. At this time, more than one suspect is being sought for the crime
