. REALITY CHECK: Durham County is the ONLY county in North Carolina where a good citizen is NOT allowed to openly carry a personally owned hand gun.

When will the libs figure out that when hand guns are restricted - ONLY criminals will have them?

MOST of those dirt bags know that decent folks won't be carrying any fire arms so they just use them on a whim.

I've lived in Durham 6 years and never had any problems. It's hard when the police don't get the support they need. It is drastically important that everybody vote next time around. Know the issues and the candidates and do the right thing.

Having been a victim near that area, I now avoid it like the plague. When we go to a Bull's game (not as often as we used to) I drive clear around to 751 to avoid the area. The risk is there. Why take it?

Take a look sometime at the per-capita violent crime rate in Johnston and Durham Counties. They're actually just about the same.

Most people forget that Durham is about 2 1/2 times the size of Cary, and over half the size of Raleigh. This is a real city with the problems -- but also the good things -- that go with urban areas.

I'm happy to live here and, while I'd like to see crime reduce, crime tends to happen in isolated areas and certainly doesn't keep me from enjoying life in the Bull City.

Durham sucks!
