Accused Baby Sitter Due in Court

Posted Updated

FAYETTEVILLE — The babysitter accused of killing an 18-month-old child makes a court appearance today.

Jimmy Baldwin, 20, claims Khaleah Wall drowned in a bathtub.

Autopsy reports show the Fayetteville girl died of blunt force trauma to the abdomen. Baldwin faces charges of first degree murder, first degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a child.

His family and friends say Baldwin has been falsely accused.

"He ain't going to kill no one else's baby. I've been to the girl's house and they were tight. He loved her as if she was his own," says Jason Larkin.

The suspect's friends believe another babysitter may have injured the child. Fayetteville police would not respond to that claim because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. However, they are not ruling out more arrests.
